We have a variety of facilities at North Melbourne Recreation Centre that can help you achieve your fitness goals! Workout in our gym, join a class in our group fitness room, play sport in our stadium, or go for a swim in our pools.
Gym
Our gym is equipped with a range of cardio, functional and resistance equipment. Our gym also acts as our personal training space. Our fitness team would be happy to assist you.
Group fitness room
Our group fitness room (the mezzanine) is located in the pool building. It is a dedicated space for group fitness classes, which you can view in our timetable.
Stadium
Our spacious stadium has one court is used for the following sports:
- basketball
- futsal / indoor soccer;
- netball;
- volleyball.
Pools
We have four outdoor pools including:
- a 25 metre outdoor pool (four lanes for lap swimming, open seasonally);
- two shallow children's splash pools with shade sails (great for babies and toddlers);
- water play pool;
- change rooms and shower facilities.
All pools are heated.
Accessibility
North Melbourne Recreation centre can cater to people with disabilities. Our accessible facilities include:
- accessible car spaces;
- ramp access to the centre;
- ramps within the facility;
- accessible change rooms.

Cafe
We have a small cafe in our pool building for you to refuel after laps or to grab a drink while the kids are in swimming lessons.

North Melbourne Recreation Centre has facilities available for hire, which can be booked for your exclusive use. We have function rooms, meeting rooms, pool lanes, a stadium, a theatre available for hire - all of which provide a blank canvas for your next event.
